Child DAO
The Child Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is a project-specific governance unit created within the Power Protocol. Each Child DAO has its own Treasury, parameters, and KPIs that define measurable outcomes for accountability and reward distribution.
Features
The Child DAO has the following features:
Dedicated Treasury
Each Child DAO maintains its own treasury to fund initiatives.
Proposal Mechanism
Supports governance Proposals for budget allocation, initiatives, and rules.
KPI Accountability
Connects funding and rewards to performance-based metrics.
Stakeholder Access
Requires locking $PWR to join, with funds remaining locked until exit.
Epoch Governance
Operates under epoch cycles (≥1 month) for voting and reward settlement.
Governance Process
Child DAO governance is structured into the following stages:
Stage 1: DAO Creation
Creating a new Child DAO requires a minimum commitment of 5 $PWR. Each Child DAO inherits the governance mechanics of the Power Protocol while maintaining its own treasury and KPIs.
After creation, the Child DAO appears on the Campaigns page, where it remains until reaching the required minimum of investments and commitments. Once those thresholds are met, the Child DAO moves to the Live page.
Stage 2: Proposal Submission
Within an existing Child DAO, any stakeholder with at least 1 $PWR staked can submit a proposal. Proposals may include initiatives, budget requests, KPI definitions, or parameter adjustments.
Stage 3: Voting Period
Proposals are placed into the epoch-based voting cycle (minimum of 1 month). All staked participants of the Child DAO may vote during this period, accounting for their Voting Power.
Stage 4: Quorum and Majority
Proposals must reach quorum and exceed majority thresholds defined in the Child DAO’s governance parameters.
Stage 5: Execution
Approved proposals are executed automatically via Smart Contracts.
Stage 6: KPI Settlement
At the close of each epoch, KPI gets evaluated:
Automatically: If the KPI can be tracked via the Waves blockchain.
Via Voting: If the KPI can be tracked off-chain.
These determine whether treasury funds are unlocked, rewards distributed, or penalties applied.
Stage 7: Epoch Closure
Epoch closure finalizes governance results. Any participant may trigger closure to distribute rewards and apply executed changes.
