Mother DAO
The Mother Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) is the main tool that oversees the Power Protocol, controls the emission of $PWR, manages the Treasury, and defines mechanics of Child DAOs.
Features
The Mother DAO has the following features:
Token Emission
Governs the emission schedule and minting parameters of $PWR.
Treasury Oversight
Manages the Treasury and its funding allocation.
DAO Creation Rules
Defines and enforces rules for Child DAO creation and activation.
Arbitration
Arbitrates disputes escalated from Child DAOs.
Parameter Control
Configures protocol parameters such as epoch cycles, quorum thresholds, pass ratios, and reward rates.
Governance Process
Mother DAO decisions follow a staged governance process:
Stage 1: Proposal Submission
Any stakeholder with at least 1 $PWR staked may submit a Proposal. Proposals define changes such as treasury allocation, parameter updates, or Mission DAO activation.
Stage 2: Voting Period
Proposals enter a fixed voting window aligned with the epoch system (minimum of 1 month). During this time, all stakeholders may cast votes, accounting for their Voting Power.
Stage 3: Quorum and Majority
For a proposal to pass, it must meet quorum requirements and exceed the majority threshold defined by protocol parameters.
Stage 4: Execution
Once approved, proposals are executed directly by Smart Contracts. Execution may involve updating protocol parameters, minting tokens within caps, or allocating treasury funds.
Stage 5: Epoch Closure
At the end of each epoch, rewards are distributed. Any participant can trigger epoch closure to finalize voting results and initiate reward settlement.
